Anakin Skywalker is a major character from the Star Wars universe. He is familiar to most people as Darth Vader along with his iconic mask and deep voice that embodies the essence of darkness and evil.
Anakin was a Jedi knight at first and a Chosen One of The Force. He was born in 41 BBY and moved to Tatooine. The fact that he did not have a father sparked the interest of Jedi Master Qui—Gon Jinn. Jinn took it upon himself to train the boy as a member of the Jedi Order. This task eventually fell to Obi Wan Kenobi after Jinn’s death. Training under Obi-Wan he grew into a powerful Jedi Knight. His character is caring and compassionate but after losing Ahsoka Tano ( a Padawan he trained) to the dark side, his feelings became more negative toward the Jedi High Council. Similarly, it was the fear of losing Padmé Amidala, his secret wife which drive him to the dark side. Seeking the power to save his wife Anakin became a Dark Lord of the Sith and became known as the ever famous Darth Vader.
Anakin is described as having blond hair (which is later brown) and a scar on his face. The scar appears later own, signifying his growth as a Jedi. There no canon explanation behind this scar but the most possible can be found in the comic Republic #71: The Dreadnaughts of Rendili, Part 3. The comic explains that his scar was a result of a battle with Asajj Ventress. She used to be a former Jedi but reverted to the Dark Side and became an assassin for Count Dooku. She attacks him as a warning sign, giving him the scar on his face.
Other than that there is no real story behind it because the creator himself never came up with one.
