How did Aang and Sokka die?

How did Aang and Sokka die?

1 Answer

  1. Avatar: The Last Airbender is an American television series that aired on Nickelodeon for three seasons. The show is divided into three “books” ( Book One: Water, Book Two: Earth, and Book Three: Fire). The series also has an animated sequel, The Legend of Korra, and an ongoing comic series. The Avatar universe consists of Four nations ( The Water Tribes, The Earth Kingdom, The Air Nomads, and The Fire Nation), and consists of people with unique abilities to control one of the natural elements. The Avatar is an all-powerful person who can command all four elements.

Aang is the main protagonist of ATLA (Avatar: The Last Airbender). He is discovered by two siblings from the Water Tribes and freed from the ice he has been trapped in for a hundred years. The water benders, Katara and Sokka become his close friends and among the first allies of the 12-year-old Avatar. The Avatar series follows Aang, Katara, and Sokka along with Appa and Momo as they travel between the four nations for Aang to master all the elements and eventually defeat the Fire Nation and end the Hundred Year War.

These primary characters of Avatar appear in minor roles (mostly in flashbacks) in the animated sequel Legend Of Korra (Also known as Korra). Most others except for Toph, Katara or Zuko are dead by the time the sequel takes place. Aang has already died by then due to natural causes (thus the Avatar spirit is reincarnated in Korra) but not before being the second-longest living Avatar in history. Sokka is briefly shown as a judge in court still maintaining his colorful personality. No detail is presented about how he died and it is assumed that he just died of old age, much like Aang.
